Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is a famous American woman in business. She is currently the president and owner-controller of the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is a California native, Buss grew up in an affluent family. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon, who was later the manager of the Lakers and other sports businesses. In 1972, her parents broke up up and she felt emotionally abandoned. As a 19-year-old she inherited her role as General Manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as General Manager. She later set up an organization called the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. The position she held was president of Great Western Forum prior to being elected vice-president of the Lakers. Her father died in 2013, and the ownership of the Lakers was inherited by Buss as well as her siblings via a trust for the family with each sibling having an equal vote. She was named president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also owns Women of Wrestling, a professional wrestling promotion with headquarters in Los Angeles.
